Our settlement journey
A significant journey for our Iwi, representing the aspirations of our tīpuna coming to fruition
On 15 March 2022, we celebrated a historic and momentous day for our iwi, as the third and final reading of our Settlement Bill took place in Parliament.
We, and our tīpuna, have been working towards this day for generations, and the reading marked our Settlement’s final move through the Parliamentary process which was a significant milestone. This Settlement represents a finality to the claims a number of our hapū and members have made over the years, and the hardships inflicted on our tīpuna who fought for this moment since the 1800s.
